ROLE

UI/UX Designer

FOCUS

The problem I solved for this passion project was how can we best connect individuals in order to live life to the fullest? The solution... A mobile experience called Thrill Seeker—An app that connects your adrenaline + experience level to adventures.

APPROACH

I sought to understand what type of thrills people were going on, how they approached planning such thrills, and what were their hesitations. Through user research and competitive analysis I discovered this tool did not exist.

I was featured on Adobe Live as a guest UI/UX designer for a 3 Day Live Stream. For 2 hours each day I discussed my design process and approach while designing Thrill Seeker 100% live. You can watch the Day 2 and Day 3 replay here.

Day 1: User Research + Wireframes
Day 2: Agile Design Sprint + UI Design
Day 3: Prototype + User Testing

RESULT

The mobile application allowed the user to search by either location (current location being default), type of thrill, or personal adrenaline level and experience level for said thrill. The results output other individuals with similarities. From there the user can view profile information of each individual. They could "heart" their favorites to save for later or directly connect with the individual. It is here at the messaging stage where the magic happens.

Often times users will not want to reveal their "secret spots" or "local knowledge" as they like to call it. However, if they connect with someone and share a mutual passion for a thrill they could then decide on what terms they can seek that thrill together. It may not necessarily be monetary, but a trade of knowledge, an exchange of experience, or the general joy of seeking thrills. It is also within this communication that planning can be made in regards to logistics and gear needed for the thrill.
